Create and Update Openings

Session 7 of 12

Grid Alignment of Vertical Openings

Introduction

Introduction

In this session, you will learn how to control the rotation of vertical openings, such as floor openings. In some scenarios, ConVoid will not align vertical openings as needed. To address this problem, add grid lines to your project to instruct ConVoid how the vertical openings should be aligned.

Alignment of Vertical Openings

Alignment of Vertical Openings
  1. To start, add grid lines to your project. Grid lines in a linked model can't be used in this process, so make sure to place them directly in your project.

  2. The distance between each grid line and any vertical openings should be less than 10 meters. Otherwise, ConVoid will not use the grid line for alignment.

  3. Once you have added grid lines, start ConVoid and rerun the creation and updating process. During this process, ConVoid will use the nearest grid line and rotate the opening accordingly.

By using grid lines, you can maintain full flexibility and independence of architectural or structural elements, such as walls.
