Visibility of the Openings

Introduction

Introduction

ConVoid families are designed to comply with a range of standards for representing openings in plans. To assist you in configuring the families as required, we offer an interactive tool, which is presented below.

Vertical Openings

Vertical Openings

Vertical openings should always be constrained to the base level and top level. For further details, please refer to the Openings Level session. To indicate where the vertical openings should be displayed on the 2-D plans, set the offset of the cut plane and select the appropriate visibility checkboxes below. Additionally, make sure to adopt the green values of the Cut Plane parameters to your family for proper visualization.

Opening Not Visible

In case an opening is not visible in your 2-D View, please check the following settings:

Check if the 'Generic Model' category is visible in your active view.

Check if the 'Detail Element' category is visible in your active view.

Ensure no filters in your active view are hiding the opening.

Opening Not Filled

In case the opening symbols are not filled in a 2-D view, please check the following settings:

2D View Discipline.PNG

Ensure the detail level of your active view is set to 'Fine'.

Ensure the 'Discipline' parameter of your active view is set to 'Coordination'.

Ensure the level of the opening is set to both the upper and lower floors. To adjust the level of an opening, please refer to 'Level/Elevation'.

If you have joined an opening with the host element instead of cutting, the symbol may be broken due to a Revit bug. In this case, delete and recreate the opening.

Check Visbility

Check if all Openings are Visible in Plan

To ensure that all openings are visible in a view, please refer to the Plan Check session. This will help you verify that all required openings are properly displayed and visible in the view.
